Geopolitics is dynamic, not static. It reflects
international realities and the global constellation of power arising from the
interaction of geography on one hand and technology and economic development on
the other. Technology and the infusion of capital can modify, though not
negate, the strategic importance of a particular geographic space” (Bert
Chapman). Do you agree or disagree with this statement? Evaluate on the subject.

Geopolitics is dynamic, not static. It reflects
international realities and the global constellation of power arising from the
interaction of geography on one hand and technology and economic development on
the other. Technology and the infusion of capital can modify, though not
negate, the strategic importance of a particular geographic space”. I want to
evaluate this idea part by part. Initially, as Chapman’s said, Geopolitics is
dynamic, not static. In my estimation, in here, Chapman is right, because
geopolitics is always developing day by day as the area of land, sea or etc. To
illustrate, in modern times, the silk road is very important from the Middle
East to Europe, but in future, this notion and aspect will can change in the
future. Geopolitics should improve itself according to the fundamentals of
Geopolitics. It is develops day by day. So,in my opinion, it is totally
dynamic, not static. On the other hand,
Chapman says “Geopolitics reflects international realities and the global
constellation of power arising from the interaction of geography on one hand
and technology and economic development on the other.” Again, I strongly agree
with him, because of the the Great Powers and the most suitable examples.
International relations effects this idea, and states give a reactions thanks
to Geopolitics. According to Chapman, technology and the infusion of capital
can modify. All I know, technology is available for a change in the times. For
this situation, I agree with Chapman again, in here. According to technological
informations, resources and capabilities, technology can modify by human hand
whenever the situation is suitable. The geographic space is the other important
thing for Geopolitics. To illustrate, Middle East and Turkey has a importance
of geopolitics such as land, strategic proximity to Europe and Israel, oils,
raw materials and people power. As a result, as we see, I strongly agree with
Chapman in this context. Technology and capital can change and modify according
to priorities and possibilities. The Great powers utilize this notion in modern
times. We can see this situation in Middle East, Anatolian, Europe and Africa.
